Have you ever imagined yourself on a popular blog?
Well, would you like to make it a reality?
The first step to doing that is finding the blogs to write for (which I’ll cover here), then you need to pitch them, then you write up the article.
So let’s jump into it.
1. Search sites you already read on Google & see if they accept guest posts
You go on Google and try the following searches:
site: domainname.com “contribute”
site: domainname.com “guidelines”
site: domainname.com “write for us”
site: domainname.com “submissions”
site: domainname.com “guest post”
Of course, you would replace domainname.com with the blog that you want to write for.
BTW I’ve made a video of this article if you prefer to watch:
2. Search for Top blogs in [niche]
Top blogs + niche
Example: Top blogs in fitness
You should then get a list of search results full of articles that list many blogs in your niche.
You can even try best blogs + niche … that works too.
After you have your list of sites, you’d apply the above searches to see if they accept guest posts.
3. Tools such as Buzzsumo
Before you start using buzzsumo.com you should sign up for the free trial otherwise you’ll only see 3 results and not the full list.
Some blogs tend to get a lot of virality on social media but may not rank so well on Google or you just didn’t know about them so we use this method to find those blogs.
Once you’ve signed up for the free trial, you simply type your niche in the search. For example “fitness” and this will give you a list of popular articles.
You can add those blogs that have published those articles to your list.
Buzzsumo basically sorts results based on how socially popular they are.
4. Niche + Keyphrase
Another shortcut technique you can use on Google or even Buzzsumo.
What you can also do is search: niche + “guest post”
So for example fitness + “guest post”
This will give you a list of guest posts in that niche… so you know for sure those blogs accept guest posts already. All you have to do is decide if you want to write for them or not.
5. Search for articles (search for the stuff your audience would be searching for)
What do people in your niche search for?
Let’s say in fitness… what would people search?
“how to lose belly fat”
Actually here’s a full list of example results:
Now, look at the top article results that come up for each one.
Those blogs that published those articles can be added to your target list for guest posting.
Makes sense right?
On a side note, I wouldn’t have thought “how to lose weight in ramadan” would be a popular search term, but now that I think about it people do actually gain weight in Ramadan.
6. Lists made by bloggers (by searching for “top [niche] blogs that accept guest posts”)
This is probably the easiest way. Well, they’re all easy. But this one is straightforward and fast.
There’s plenty of these lists out there and a lot of them already link to the guest post guidelines page.
7. Find where experts in your niche or even competitors guest post
Now this one is a sneaky one.
Want to write on the same blogs besides the experts you look upto?
Well simply google this…
Author: Expert Name
So for example… Author: Neil Patel
And you will see a result of all the blogs the author has written on.
And again you repeat the first step by finding their guest post guidelines page and then submit your guest post or pitch from there.
So there you have it.
It’s simple and easy.
You can write for those popular blogs if you want it.
It’s not unattainable.
You can do it.
